Vande Mataram / Anekam Mataram
The recent spur over the compulsion to sing our national song is totally justified as an act to show our unity.
The Muslim community’s blunt rejection to the proposal only causes the rest of the country to raise its eyebrows!!!! In this age where Islamic terrorist groups are causing havoc all over the world and within our country too, such a reaction of the Muslim clerics against the proposal to sing the national song is only being viewed as an act by them against national integration.
But their side of the story as need to be looked into! They are not allowed to worship anything other than their prophet!!!
I totally respect their values and beliefs. If it is against their faith, then they don’t have to!
The clerics rapidly have to find a way to convince the public of their patriotism; else it will only worsen their stance in the modern world!
Just as any other case a few bad apples make sure, the good ones never get appreciated.
But of course it is not illegal for anyone not to sing the national song! It is only illegal of one to disrespect our national emblems/signs/etc. And I can be patriotic and yet not go around shouting about it. No body has to wear a bright shinny badge swearing their patriotism!!!
The irony of the entire situation lies in the fact that ‘Vande Mataram” was written to unite the people of India during the independence struggle, but now it is virtually disrupting national integrity!!!!!!
